Tragedy Struck June 19th
In a devastating turn of events on June 19th, the housing facility at Compassion Ranch—a safe haven for at-risk youth—was completely destroyed by a sudden, intense fire. While the destruction has left the residents without shelter and nearly everything they own, a miracle unfolded as all the youth managed to escape injury, thanks to the quick actions of Patrick, our dedicated “house dad,” who roused everyone from sleep before the flames could claim any lives.
Tragically, the loss is profound: four youth housed at the ranch are now without a home. Among the material losses is also a car recently acquired for one of the youth, symbolizing yet another reminder of the challenges they face. Only one youth managed to have their phone on them during the rapid evacuation, underscoring both the peril and the speed with which events unfolded.
